Miroma Group acquires majority holding in Gary Neville’s content company, Buzz16
Global independent marketing business, Miroma Group, has acquired a majority stake in Buzz16, the award-winning content company launched in 2016 by Gary Neville. The multi-million-pound investment solidifies Buzz16’s future plans for a £200m + IPO and sees Miroma Group increase its existing stake in the company.
The investment will help supercharge Buzz16’s growth whilst supporting the next phase of development of award-winning YouTube channel, The Overlap, as well as the company’s expansion as it looks to launch further digital content brands.
The Overlap, a YouTube channel launched by Gary Neville in 2021, is produced by Buzz16 and has seen huge growth over the last year, garnering over 526,000 subscribers, generating 83 million views, and most recently winning YouTube Channel of the Year 2022. In February, it was announced that The Overlap On Tour, a live show hosted by Gary Neville, alongside Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane, has been commissioned for a four-part series produced by Buzz16 for SKY MAX; Gary Neville’s The Overlap on Tour.
Scott Melvin, CEO & Co-Founder of Buzz16, commented: “Buzz has been on a fantastic journey so far, whether it’s working on producing content for our wonderful client roster or creating The Overlap which has gone from strength to strength, but there’s so much more we can do, and this majority acquisition by Miroma Group is going to help us do it.”
Marc Boyan, Founder and CEO of Miroma Group, said: “I’m thrilled to be working more closely with the team at Buzz16. They have created some incredible work since their inception, and what I’ve seen them do with The Overlap is no exception. I’m excited to help the company grow, as we look to launch further projects in this space.”
Gary Neville, Co-Founder of Buzz16, commented: “This is great news for Buzz16 and it is fantastic to be able to work with Miroma Group. To utilise and tap into their experience and knowledge can only help us to develop and grow even further. Exciting times”.
